Women in Healthcare Networking Mixer at Hotel Zena DC

On June 12, 2025, the DMV came alive with brilliance, boldness, and Black girl magic as women across healthcare disciplines gathered at Figleaf at Hotel Zena in Washington, DC, for the Women in Healthcare Networking Mixer.

Hosted by the incredible Gabrielle Johnson and the Great Energy Group, the evening was a celebration of connection, collaboration, and community. From public health and clinical medicine to dentistry, policy, and research, the room was filled with powerhouse women across the spectrum of care—each bringing unique experiences and energy to the space.

I had the honor of joining a phenomenal panel alongside:

  • Dionne McDonald

  • Dr. Yaadira Brown, MD, MPH, MBA

  • Dr. Arlene A. Asante, DMD

Together, we shared insights on navigating our careers, leading with purpose, and staying rooted in equity while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare. It wasn’t just a panel—it was a conversation among sisters. Real talk. Real stories. Real impact.

Highlights from the Night:

  • Thought-provoking dialogue on leadership, legacy, and leaning into your lane

  • Meaningful connections with students, professionals, and changemakers

  • A beautiful rooftop venue that radiated style, empowerment, and sisterhood

  • The unmatched energy of women supporting women

Whether you’re just starting your journey or are a seasoned professional, the mixer was a reminder of how powerful it is when we come together to share space, pour into one another, and create opportunities for collective growth.

To everyone who showed up, showed out, and showed love—thank you. The magic we created in that room was only the beginning.

Let’s keep building. Let’s keep rising. Let’s keep showing up for each other.
